Les malgaches remportent le Ze’Défi OI 2015

Malagasy culinary know-how was the winner of a gastronomic competition held in Reunion as part of the “Ze’Salon” of the Vanilla Islands. The association Entreprendre au feminine l’Ocean indian (EFOI), in partnership with the Vanilla Islands, was at the origin of the competition. 6 islands respectively had two representatives in the competition.

For the Malagasy camp, two women from the Big Island and residents of Reunion took part in the competition. Note that for last year, only Rodrigues was present. During the 2015 edition, Mauritius, Rodrigues, Mayotte, Comoros, Reunion and Madagascar all had their two candidates. During a time limit of two hours, the candidates must successfully prepare a hearty dish consisting of three mandatory ingredients, namely blue vanilla, citrus fruits and chicken. Certainly, during a trip to Madagascar, you will be able to taste dishes based on these three foods.

Three criteria determine the grades. The jury distributes points based on the taste, presentation and also the cooking quality of each dish. After comparing the votes, the production of the two Malagasy artists, namely Josiane Alidie Anontsoa and Fidèle Christine Mamesy, obtained the best mark. The two Malagasy women seduced the members of the jury with their poultry ballotin with kaffir lime, presented with a pumpkin and vanilla leek chaplain and garnished with a three-citrus fruit sauce. A Madagascar vacation will also give you great opportunities to savor typical dishes from this red island.
